Description of the procurement

This contract involves the provision of Archaeological Consultancy Stage Services; Stages (i) to (iv) for the western part Lot 1 of the N22 Baile Bhuirne to Macroom Road Development (Contract Lot 1) in advance of its construction.
These service requirements relate to the western (roughly) third of the N22 Baile Bhuirne to Macroom Road Development, namely from the western tie-in to the existing N22 road at the townland of Slievereagh (approx. Chainage 9,770), crossing the townlands of Cappagh West, Cappagh East, Killeen, Ballymakeery and Toonlane and concluding at the western boundary of the townland of Coolnacaheragh (site of proposed Underbridge S10A/10B), at approximate chainage 17,460—a total distance of approximately 7690 linear metres.
In order to facilitate ecological restrictions, Stage (i)-(iii) services will be divided into two distinct phases, the initial phase (Phase 1) of Stage (i)-(iii) services commencing in April 2017 with a second phase (Phase 2) of Stage (i)-(iii) services estimated to commence in September 2017.
Stage (i) Services shall be carried out for a total fixed price lump sum, as tendered, with separate fixed price lump sums tendered for any relevant Stage (i) sub-stage service.
Stage (ii) Services shall be carried out on the basis of a fixed price lump sum.
Stage (iii) Services shall be carried out on the basis of a Fixed Price Lump Sum, determined by the Client according to rates and prices for Stage (iii) as tendered and in accordance with the Excavation Specification for each site.
Stage (iv) Services shall proceed on the basis of agreement by the Client of proposals from the Consultant for each archaeological site excavated during earlier Stages. Stage (iv) Services shall be carried out for a fixed price lump sum based on the percentage as tendered by the Consultant for Stage (iv) Services of the outturn cost of the Stage (iii) Services for the Contract.
