Shannon Airport Authority (“SAA”) intends to virtualize its server environment

Shannon Airport Authority (“SAA”) intends to virtualize its server environment. SAA currently operates approximately 75 physical servers to provide computing resources to the campus. These services include Airport Operations, Baggage Handling, Flight Information Displays, Car-Parks, File & Print Servers, Windows Domain Servers, Backup Servers, Time & Attendance, and CCTV. SAA has identified at present 52 of the existing 75 physical servers that can be virtualised, and we plan to consolidate the services of these 52 servers onto 6 new physical servers utilising virtualisation technology. Connected to those new physical servers will be two new shared data storage units.
