COBH CRUISE VISION - Integrated Design Team Services relating to Cobh Cruise Berth Upgrade

THIS CONTRACT HAS BEEN AWARDED TO RPS GROUP LTD. The Port of Cork Company invites tenders for the upgrade o the Cobh Cruise Berth for the accommodation of Quantum Class Cruise Vessels at the existing berth i.e. up to 350 metres. The installation of 3 new suitable mooring dolphins and associated bollards, fendering and quay works. The services include the design and planning, preparation of tender documents and supervision of the construction works. Phase 1 must be completed by April 2015. It will be critical that the successful tenderer can deliver within this timeline. The development of the Vision has been done with assistance from RPS Consulting Engineers who had been involved in an earlier berth upgrading. The attached presentation outlines the Cobh Cruise Terminal Vision as adopted by the Board of the Port of Cork in December 2013. This Services Agreement will relate solely to Phase 1 of this Vision. It is anticipated that 2 further development phases will be required to expand the facility, under a separate future agreement, these being: Phase 2 – The extension of the existing quay wall, installation of further fenders and dolphins to enhance the shore side facility and marine operational capability of the berth. Phase 3 – The extension of the Phase 2 facilities to accommodate a second cruise berth for vessels of up to 300 metres in length.
