Granuaile Castle - Prepare feasibility study for castle restoration and Clare island interpretative centre

Preparation of a feasibility study for the refurbishment of Granuaile Castle and construction of a multifunctional Interpretative Centre on Clare Island to serve as a stimulus for tourism, education and research. The project comprises a detailed feasibility study of: 1. Refurbishment of Granuaile Castle. Internal and external works for refurbishment of Granuaile Castle as a touristic and cultural amenity for the Island community and visitors 2. Construction of a multipurpose visitor/interpretative/cultural Centre linked to Granuaile Castle, as an educational, research, social, cultural and touristic, amenity for the Island community and visitors 3. Modalities and alternatives for the physical and virtual linkage of Granuaile Castle and Interpretative Centre in order to highlight the historic, cultural, environmental and scientific, wealth of Clare Island The Study will be carried out by a 3rd party or parties qualified in the preparation of studies involving: • renovation of historic buildings registered on the Register of National Monuments and Places, to identify their potential for renovation and use as tourism resource for Ireland. Following guidelines for a typical feasibility study as indicated by the Office of Public Works. • construction of interpretative centres, museums and/or multifunctional buildings for mixed commercial, catering, educational, research, social and/or cultural use. • Construction in proximity to historic buildings and/or areas of significant scenic or environmental importance. • Consideration and mitigation of potential environmental, social and cultural impacts
