Short description
Tenders are sought for the supply, delivery and installation of a High Energy X-ray Computed Tomography System. The new equipment will be capable of higher resolution and also dealing with larger overall sample sizes. It would represent a solution that is not currently available within Ireland and which enables progress within many fields and applications: aerospace components, metal additive manufacturing, EV batteries. A primary mini-focus, cone beam, at least 450kV x-ray source to facilitate large, heavy samples and a secondary, micro-focus source to generate fine focal spots for higher resolution on delicate components. A state of the art, high sensitivity, high resolution imaging arrays suited to fine detail and high absorbing samples. A high end reconstruction and post-processing computing solution for data analysis and handling. A large working envelope capable of handling samples up to 1000mm diameter.

Please note that the following modules must be included in the tendered package price,
• A primary 450/500kV, 1500W, milli-focus, closed x-ray source to penetrate large, heavy samples.
• A secondary 240kV, micro-focus, open x-ray source to examine large samples at high resolutions.
• A rigid and vibration isolated/reducing high precision manipulator system.
• A large, high sensitivity digital detector array (flat panel) for rapid data acquisition with an integrated covering mechanism to reduce exposure when not in use.
• A flat panel detector array
• A large, walk-in, safety cabinet to ensure the safety of operators.
• An Air Conditioning system to ensure a thermally stable test environment.
• Control PC and associated hardware/software
• A powerful post processing PC with multiple high-end graphics cards for
reconstruction and the latest high-end data processing software.
