Description of the procurement

This tender is to appoint an Architect led Design Team for a School of Pharmacy Expansion 2024 at the School of Pharmacy, College Road for University College Cork.
The proposed works are described in more detail in the Project Brief but can be summarized as follows:
 Expand Pharmacy Building lecture theatre LG51 from 92 to 110 (min) seats while maintaining access to the main lower ground foyer.
 Expand Pharmacy Building lecture theatre LG52 from 85 to 110 (min) seat and provide access to the main lower ground foyer via a new corridor along the north façade of the building.
 Floor out atrium voids on first and second levels at the southern side of the Pharmacy Building.
 Extend seminar room LG01 to seat a minimum of 110 students. The extension of this area could be considered to the north (outside the current building footprint, or to the west (incorporating the existing corridor and five break-out rooms,). In the latter case, the nearby LG08 could provide capacity for replacement break-out rooms.
 The Pharmacy building has long suffered from a wind tunnel effect through the atrium. These convection losses severely affect the energy performance of the building and occupant comfort during cold, windy weather. Since the works described above impinge on north and south entrances, it is an opportunity to improve the design on both levels.
The successful tenderer will be required to provide the full range of consultancy services for the delivery of the Contract including but not limited to the following:
a) Architectural Services (including DAC, Planning & Landscaping Design Services),
b) Civil/Structural & Fire Engineering Services
c) Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services
d) Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP),
e) Quantity Surveying Services
f) Employers Representative
