Iarnród Éireann, Irish Rail (IE) have a requirement for a system replacement of the 22000 Intercity Railcar (ICR) Seat Reservation System (SRS). The 22000 ICR fleet has 63 units, that operate across the entire IÉ network.
The replacement standalone SRS system will be a 1st in class system that will require 95% operation without staff intervention as a minimum.
The SRS system will need to at a minimum interface with:
1. Train Radio – To read the specific Train ID for the service
2. Seat Reservation Displays – Reuse the seat reservation displays on the train
It is desirable that the replacement SRS system will interface with the IÉ SRS Manifest Server, to download a valid SRS manifest file for the service. However, the supplier may propose a new system.
IÉ will require the on-board system to report to ground the status of the SRS system, which will include but not limited to:
1. Health status of all devices for the SRS
2. How the SRS manifest file was loaded i.e., without intervention (GSM) or with intervention (USB)
