Short description
A Whole Genome Sequencing Service is required by the Department of Psychiatry in Trinity College Dublin. The department is research focused and involved in a wide range of basic science and clinical research. The department has internationally recognized research groups in Genomics, Neuroimaging, Molecular Neuroscience and Brain Health/Ageing.
This research project is focused on identifying and investigating the genetic architecture of schizophrenia and related disorders. Researchers at Trinity College Dublin are currently working on a project to perform Whole Genome Sequencing of large multiply affected pedigrees, with the hypothesis that at least a small proportion of pedigrees will contain rare genetic variation of strong effect.
In addition to the initial requirement for TCD there are a number of participating Institutions listed that may award contracts under this framework over the four year period.
