Short description
The Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications as represented by Geological Survey Ireland (a division of the Minister's Department) seeks Hydrogeological technical services to be provided to Geological Survey Ireland for 'Groundwater Resource Assessment Catchment Project (“GW3D”): Shannon and Corrib Catchments', from February 2023 to February 2027.
The estimated duration of this project is 4 years with the possibility of a single extension for up to 12 months on a no cost basis. Over the term of the project the estimated cost (ex VAT) is not expected to exceed €3m.
This RFT is accompanied by two pdf reports referred to in the RFT as Appendix 7 reports. They are Appendix 7.1 GSI GW3D Boyne Report and Appendix 7.2 GSI Barrow Catchment Site Investigations.

Description of the procurement
The Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications as represented by Geological Survey Ireland (a division of the Minister's Government Department) seeks Hydrogeological technical services to be provided to Geological Survey Ireland for 'Groundwater Resource Assessment Catchment Project (“GW3D”): Shannon and Corrib Catchments', from February 2023 to February 2027. The Groundwater and Geothermal Programme (GGU) in Geological Survey Ireland (GSI) is responsible for providing maps, data, expertise and advice for groundwater resources and protection, often with a focus on the supply of drinking water. GGU wish to carry out groundwater resource assessments in the Shannon and Corrib catchments of Ireland. External hydrogeological services are required to undertake the analytical and field assessments to produce Groundwater Resource Assessment Catchment Reports for up to fifteen priority catchments identified in the Shannon and Corrib region. These resource assessments will follow the technical methodology established in the Groundwater Resource Assessment Catchment Project (“GW3D”) – East and South.
