Short description
1. On behalf of the Collaborative Action for the Natura Network (CANN), Monaghan County Council is seeking to appoint an experienced economic operator with the approprate expertise to install wooden walkway to prevent erosion on parts of the Sliabh Beagh Way walk in Eshbrack Bog NHA on Sliabh Beagh in County Monaghan. Works to be carried out during September 2022.
The habitat at this site consists of Blanket Bog. The walkway transits through county Monaghan, with some sections on open bog and others on gravel track. Four kilometres of the walkway is within the Eshbrack Bog NHA. It is proposed that erosion prevention measures will be carried out on 1.2km of the walkway, on the open bog. This 1.2km will be broken into 7 discrete sections. This is to address the worst of the erosion, with as minimal impact as possible.
