An initial contract will be awarded under the framework for two (2) years, with the option to extend for three (3) further periods of up to two (2) years, subject to a maximum duration of eight (8) years.
NMI has recently undertaken a project with Knowledge Integration, a company specialising in middleware which connects museum collections databases, which resulted in an integrated public index and media store representing the NMI collections in preparation for sharing collections online.

These numbers will grow over the coming months to include archives and library holdings and in the longer term will include drawings, 3D images, video, and sound recordings.
• NMI are seeking tenders from interested parties to develop a public-facing search and display website for the public index. The index is presented to the user interface as an Elasticsearch index with media files stored on a webserver, accessible over https. Additionally, a machine-readable API returning results in JSON will be required. The key requirement from the interface is that it will be user-friendly for the museum’s public.
