Maynooth University has been appointed by members of consortium of higher educational institutions in Ireland including universities, members of the Irish Universities Association and the THEA (See background below), as their non-exclusive agent, to enter into agreements on the Members’ behalf for accessing electronic educational and research resources.The Consortium wishes to enter subscription agreements for access to each of the following resources.

1 Science Direct, Freedom Collection ScienceDirect is a bespoke discovery platform of peer-reviewed literature from over 4,000 Elsevier journals and books. The Freedom collection is offered to academic customers exclusively.
2 SCOPUS Scopus citation database. For Information, Scopus covers nearly 36,377 titles from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields: life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and health sciences. It contains enriched data and links out to scholarly literature.
3 SciVal SciVal is a web-based analytics solution that works in conjunction with Scopus. It provides comprehensive access to the research performance of over 20,000 research institutions and their associated researchers from 230 nations worldwide. SciVal allows universities to visualize research performance, benchmark relative to peers, develop strategic partnerships, and identify and analyse new, emerging research trends. Metrics include a top-level country level through to an individual researcher level spreading across all subject areas or at a more granular subject area/ to sub-category subject area.
4 Knovel Engineering reference works and databases from over 50 leading technical publishers and professional societies like AIAA, AIChE, ASME and NACE in 23 subject areas.
It combines a search engine with interactive tools to manipulate, analyse and export data.
