Galway County Council (the Council) is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified Urban-designer / Town Planner led team to perform all necessary analysis and diagnosis to deliver a tailored Town Centre First Plan for Gort Town Centre (Part 1). The Gort Public Realm Improvement Project (Part 2) is being built on two components, 2A and 2B, which will align with Fáilte Irelands, “Destination Town Guidelines”. Component 2A: Public Realm Design Services Design of an attractive inclusive public realm focused on the towns key streets and linkages to its recreation and amenity attractions. Component 2B: Wayfinding Design Services The design of an integrated wayfinding and interpretive strategy linking the towns necklace of amenities and providing clear navigation paths for the visitor experience within the town.

Description of the procurement

Galway County Council (the Council) is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified Urban-designer / Town Planner led team to perform all necessary analysis and diagnosis to deliver a tailored Town Centre First Plan for Gort Town Centre (the Study Area). The content of this document will be delivered in accordance with the objectives and outputs as described in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and the Department of Rural and Community Development document: Town Centre First – a policy approach for Irish Towns. The Masterplan Plan for Gort is one of the first-round of Town Centre Plans funded under the Town Centre First Policy. The Town Centre First Plan for Gort shall set out a clear strategy for the future development and revitalisation of Gort Town Centre, and will be required to inform the decision making process for the Gort Public Realm Improvement Project. The Gort Public Realm Improvement Project (Part 2) is being built on two components, 2A and 2B, which will align with Fáilte Irelands, “Destination Town Guidelines”.
