Description of the procurement
Louth County Council (LCC) has been successful in a funding application to Fáilte Ireland for an urban animation for The Project for Drogheda Co. Louth. The proposed lighting contract comprises of the animated lighting of 5 key legends of the River Boyne in lighting installations to landmark structures along the river in Drogheda.
These lighting features will enliven and illustrate key myths and legends associated with the River Boyne as it runs through Drogheda’s Heritage Quarter. Landmark buildings and structures in the historic landscape will be used as the setting for animated lighting installations of legends that will extend story telling from the historic streets and laneways in Drogheda to the Boyne Valley landscape, rich in mythology. The development of this trail will connect key historic buildings, tourist attractions and city zones.
To that end LCC are now seeking a specialist lighting designer and contractor to prepare a lighting strategy and design to illuminate these landmark historic buildings and structures, and complete the delivery aspect of the works also.
