Short description

The Health Research Board (HRB) is a state agency that supports research and provides evidence to prevent illness, improve health and transform patient care. The HRB has 80 staff. Our annual budget is in excess of €50m and we manage a research investment portfolio of approximately €200m. The agency is funded mainly by the Department of Health, and Board members are appointed by the Minister for Health.
The successful company will need to be able to deliver amongst other items:
• Strong ideas and design concepts for new reports and promotional material
• Professional graphic design ability to deliver new concepts to a high standard
• Sharp project management skills to absorb ideas and communicate these effectively to a design team and deliver a professional service from concept to finished product.

Description of the procurement

The successful company will need to be able to deliver
• Strong ideas and design concepts for new reports and promotional material
• Professional graphic design ability to deliver new concepts to a high standard
• Sharp project management skills to absorb ideas and communicate these effectively to a design team and deliver a professional service from concept to finished product.
• Strong proof-reading skills and a quality control process
• A degree of patience for repeat typesetting and layout work for our series publications
• A clear understanding of accessibility legislation and standards
• A good portfolio of royalty free imagery suitable for the brief
• A proven ability to deliver a number of jobs, under pressure of tight deadlines
• Knowledge of data visualisation and ability to implement this if required
Each year, specific projects requiring this input will include, but is not limited to;
• Three Annual Reports
• Health Research in Action
• HRB Drug and Alcohol Evidence Reviews
• Research/Data specific report such as the Alcohol Overview or National Drug and Alcohol Survey Publication
• Four editions of Drugnet
• All NHIS bulletins, reports and related infographics
• About one animation a year
• Promotional infographics and twittercards
• Support for NREC and HRCDC websites.
