The Minister for Defence seeks responses for a specialist IT Consultant to the NECC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day service availability of the NECC to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the facility. The NECC was established in 2006. It has robust communications systems and facilities for an incident room and meetings rooms for coordinating a strategic response to a major emergency and has been activated on a number of occasions including but not limited to events such as severe weather. The facility is used for the strategic management of designated emergencies. The NECC is available to all government departments to support their emergency planning and management requirements.
