Short description

The Peatland Climate Action Scheme (PCAS) focuses on optimizing suitable hydrological conditions (stable water levels close to the surface) by blocking production field drains and employing other wetland engineering measures. These measures will create soggy peatland conditions that will naturally colonise by plants and animals and will allow compatible peatland habitats to re-develop. It will also slow water movement across these bogs.
Some of the afore mentioned measures require the installation of pipework for the management of the water level within the bogs in scope. The type and size of pipe will be dependant on the rehabilitation measure that it is to be incorporated into.
It is envisaged that the pipes will be required in phases with circa 20 bogs per year being under consideration over a 3 year period 2022 to 2024
Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified candidates interested in being considered for the supply of pipework to Bord na Mona.
