Short description

The Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM) is seeking tenders for the supply of a National Marketing Service for the Irish sport horse sector from suitable Organisations / Bodies.
The National Marketing service to be provided is to promote and market Irish bred horses and Irish breeders and producers, to protect, enhance and build the reputation of the sport horse industry, to increase National and International exposure of the Irish Sport Horse Industry and to maximise the economic return to breeders relative to expenditure.
The body / organisation successful in the tender process will require staff that are knowledgeable about the sport horse industry in Ireland and abroad. Staff will require marketing know-how and expertise, knowledge of markets at home and abroad for the Irish sport horses, possess the experience to run national and international marketing programmes and facilitate innovative equine sales platforms for the industry.

Description of the procurement

The Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM) is seeking tenders for the supply of a National Marketing Service for the Irish sport horse sector from suitable Organisations / Bodies.
The industry document ‘Reaching New Heights’ created a road map for the industry up to 2025 and set out recommendations to develop the sport horse sector. Recommendations in that strategy include a requirement to establish a horse marketing body to promote and market all aspects of the Irish sport horse sector on a global scale. Horse Sport Ireland has been providing this service to date (complement of staff: 4FTE). There is now a requirement to tender for the supply of this service for the next 4 years.
