The Irish Defence Forces Corps of Engineers requires Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) to fulfil the capability of indoor remote search, and to provide the Engineer Specialist Search and Clearance (ESSC) Teams with high quality imagery prior to committing personnel to a high-risk environment. These ROVs should be capable of supporting operations in all climates, with an ability to carry out remote reconnaissance in both indoor and outdoor high threat ESSC operations. These ROVs should be able to navigate difficult terrain, gaining access to areas denied to the current fleet of Engineer Corps ROVs. These ROVs should also be equipped with a manipulator arm that will allow for interactions with objects encountered in the field during its operation.
