Description of the procurement

Energy consumption data is recorded in each building using dedicated monitoring systems. The campaign primarily involves working with the staff in each building to effect behavioural change with regard to energy usage and eliminating energy wastage. The programme also includes minor capital works, where small investment with acceptable payback periods assist with achieving targeted energy savings. Average annual energy savings of over 20% have been achieved in the participating buildings. The target is to increase the average savings to a minimum of 30% which will make a significant contribution to the overall Public Service target savings as guided by the National Energy and Climate Plan 2021 - 2030 and the forthcoming National Energy Efficiency Action Plan 2021 - 2030.
