Description of the procurement
Dublin City Council is seeking individual Archivists to provide the required services. The services in general terms will be required from time to time and will be based on the number of hours in attendance to carry out services. There will be an accumulation of technical documents to be addressed once the Archivist (s) is/are in situ. The general requirement (which is subject to change) is initially for 4.5 days per week.
The demand for services, when the current guidance around Covid permits, may require two or more Archivists to be immediately available, to be on site. Archiving services are required initially by Archaeology Section for 2 days per week, City Architects Division for 1 day per week, Conservation Section for 1 day per week and Heritage Section for ½ day per week.
Each of the areas of DCC’s responsibility require that their technical documents, reports, maps, or a comprehensive assessment of a structure/site/street is undertaken and/or a subsequent full report on the structure/site/street is prepared for consideration by the relevant Professional staff. Conservation & Archaeology Planning/Compliance reports are prepared by the Professional staff, as appropriate, in response to Planning applications and plans/maps/documents are received as part of this planning process.
Archivist services will therefore include classifying, filing, and tracking of information held in each Division, which includes technical documents, digital files, reports and maps, in order to allow for ease of retrieval.]
