Short description

The provision of training services nationally to the Irish public sector to assist with the delivery of the Open Data Initiative and to enable public sector bodies to meet their obligations under the Open Data and reuse of Public Sector Information Directive 2019.
The concept of Open Data is about making data held by public bodies available and easily accessible online for reuse and redistribution. A common definition of Open Data is that a piece of data or content is open if anyone is free to use, reuse, and redistribute it — subject only, at most, to the requirement to attribute and/or share-alike. Share-alike is a copyright licensing term, originally used by the Creative Commons project, to describe works or licences that require copies or adaptations of the work to be released under the same or similar licence as the original. Under Ireland’s Open Data Initiative, public bodies are to identify and publish appropriate datasets in compliance with the Open Data Publication Guidelines
