Description of the procurement

Scope of the “Core Infrastructure” solution
The over-arching solution will encompass the delivery of a variety of technologies and services which are managed over time by a single successful vendor and includes:
• The ability to optimise the delivery of core infrastructure by contracting for multiple components with a partner who can demonstrate outcomes can be enhanced through this approach.
• Managed services as a principle across all deliveries.
• Provision of technology and services which comprise of all application hosting, deployment and lifecycle management, data lifecycle management, systems lifecycle management, identity lifecycle management and end user computing experience needs.
• Provision of technology and services which leverage a converged wired and wireless network concept which hosts all relevant systems, estimated at 20,000 active switch ports and 6000 wireless endpoints today. There is a significant number of use cases which must be segmented and supported on the network.
• Provision of ICT security related solutions and services to protect the hospital, its patients, its staff and its assets from security threats of all types.
• Provision of ICT security specific technologies and services in this tender to deliver SIEM, SOC and other security specific related components.
• Enablement of efficient and effective infrastructure services by leveraging integration of the network with other aspects CHI infrastructure such as security, user identity and storage & computing solutions.
• Support of the development phases of Children’s Health Ireland facilities.
Host, manage and deploy all elements of a comprehensive enterprise-wide electronic healthcare record platform for CHI. CHI is currently in a tender process for an Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) platform. Its current preference is to have this delivered as software as a service from the vendor who supplies it. The scope of this tender will include the hosting and deployment of all aspects of EHR until a vendor is selected
