The development will consist of: the removal of the existing foundations and access ramp associated with a previously located prefabricated building; and the construction of a two storey extension to the existing Research and Training facility building to provide an additional 1,500 sq m of laboratory floorspace and ancillary facilities. The resulting total gross floor area of the building will be 7,985 sq m.

Description of the procurement
A development to construct an extension to the existing NIBRT facility on a site of c.1.4892 ha at Belfield, Foster's Ave, Blackrock, Eircode A94 X099. The development will consist of: the removal of the existing foundations and access ramp associated with a previously located prefabricated building; and the construction of a two storey extension to the existing Research and Training facility building to provide an additional 1,500 sq m of laboratory floorspace and ancillary facilities. The resulting total gross floor area of the building will be 7,985 sq m. The development will also consist of: alterations to the elevations, roof and internal layouts of the existing building; hard and soft landscaping (including the removal of the existing berm); surface car parking, including re-configurations to the existing car park and new car parking spaces to provide an additional 58 No. spaces, resulting in an overall total of 80 No. car parking spaces (including 4 No. wheelchair accessible spaces) and associated ductwork for EV charging to all spaces; 2 no. bicycle parking shelters (total of 81.1 sq m); additional showering facilities within the existing building, an additional servicing and delivery bay; plant and services (mechanical and electrical, water supply, sewage disposal and surface water disposal) and; all other site development works above and below ground.

The main contract works comprise the complete development including inter alia all civil infrastructure and external works, structural, architectural, exterior precast concrete paneling, mechanical, HVAC and building services, piping, process gases, electrical, instrumentation and controls, fire protection, security, asbestos contaminated groundworks removal, partial furniture fitout of laboratory and training spaces, landscaping.
Price is not the only award criterion and all criteria are stated only in the procurement documents
