Westmeath County Council (WCC) is seeking to improve the visitors experience of Athlone. The project will develop a Wayfinding & Interpretation Strategy, Implementation Plan design and manage the delivery of a Public Realm Enhancement Scheme in the environs of Athlone Castle.
WCC now intend to engage the services of an Architect led Design Team and Technical Advisory Team, including the supervisory services of a Resident Engineer (Project Team/The Consultant).
The consultant shall appoint a Project Manager for the scheme, and he/she shall have overall responsibility for the management, delivery, and implementation of the project.
The Project team will include all other specialist services, necessary or desirable, to manage all stages in the delivery of the “Athlone Wayfinding & Interpretation Strategy and Castle Environs Public Realm Enhancement Scheme.”

Description of the procurement

Westmeath County Council (WCC) has secured funding from Failte Ireland Destination Towns fund to develop an integrated Wayfinding & Interpretation Strategy, to install and implement way-finding elements and to extend the successful delivery of the high-quality Public Realm, from Church St to the area in front of the Castle. WCC now intend to engage the services of an Architect led Design Team and Technical Advisory Team, including the supervisory services of a Resident Engineer (Project Team/The Consultant).
