Short description
Condition assessment surveys of existing trunkmains from Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to Saggart to determine risk to supply for 830,000 customers in the GDA.
Ballymore Eustace WTP is the largest WTP in Ireland. Treated water is conveyed from Ballymore Eustace to Saggart via two trunk mains, namely the Liffey Aqueduct and a 1,600mm pre-stressed concrete pipeline.
The capacity of the pipeline and the aqueduct is approximately 310MLD with peak capacity of 329MLD.
Condition assessment surveys are to be carried out on the full length of the prestressed concrete main (25km) and the steel sections of the aqueduct (9km). The surveys must include the use of
in pipe, untethered survey technology as it will not be possible to take either main out of service for the duration of the surveys.
