Building Services (M&E) Engineering Services for major extension at St Aloysius College, Carrigtwohill, Co Cork. Current enrolment is 791 pupils and the projected long-term enrolment is 1000. In summary, the project will comprise:
Section A:
General Classrooms and practical rooms, giving a floor area including circulation and internal walls of 3295.6 m2
Section B:
Two Classroom SEN Base giving a floor area including circulation and internal walls of 524.4 m2
Giving Gross Floor area for Sections A and B incl. staircases & lift: 3990 m2
Also External:
Secure hard & soft play area 200 m2
Sensory Garden 100 m2

Description of the procurement
Building Services (M&E) Engineering Services for major extension at St Aloysius College, Carrigtwohill, Co Cork.
St Aloysius College is an all-girls voluntary secondary school under the trusteeship of Le Chéile Schools Trust. Current enrolment is 791 pupils and the projected long-term enrolment is 1000. You are requested to study in detail the attached BFR Project Brief and the associated Schedule of Accommodation.
At this time, it is envisaged that the additional accommodation as outlined in the Schedule of Accommodation will be provided in a standalone extension to the existing school. However, your attention is drawn to the options outlined on page 13 of the Project Brief. The size of the site is 8.20 acres approximately. It has limited road frontage. In summary, the project will comprise:
Section A:
General Classrooms and practical rooms as outlined in the Schedule of Accommodation. Giving a floor area including circulation and internal walls of 3295.6 m2
Section B:
Two Classroom SEN Base 409.7 m2
Giving a floor area including circulation and internal walls of 524.4 m2
Giving Gross Floor area for Sections A and B incl. staircases & lift: 3990 m2
Also External:
Secure hard & soft play area 200 m2
Sensory Garden 100 m2

Architectural Services shall also include for Fire Safety Consultancy Services, and Landscape Architectural Services
INTERIM TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION
• Please note: Once appointed, the Design Team (DT) will be tasked with the provision of interim temporary accommodation of three temporary classrooms (2 classrooms x 49 m2 each plus one temporary science room)
