Short description

The scheme commences at Lamb's Cross junction (R117) and extends approximately 1.4km to the junction with Ticknock Road (adjacent to the M50 overbridge). The proposed scheme also includes approximately 375m at the 3 tie-in roads at Lambs Cross, Enniskerry Road, Sandyford Road and Hillcrest Road and 55m at Ticknock Road.
The proposed Scheme also includes an improvement to the junction of Grange Road/Harold's Grange Road/College Road/Kellystown Road. The length of improved roads at this junction is approximately 150m.
In total the overall length of the scheme is approximately 2km.
The associated works include:
Construction of pavement, footways and cycle lanes –
6.5m – 11.5m wide carriageway
1.5m – 2.25m pedestrian route and 1.5m – 2.0m cyclist route

Description of the procurement

The project involves the upgrading of approximately 2 km of local roads typically with 2 x 3.25m lanes of single carriageway, 2 no. new footways and 2 no. new cycleways. The typical cross section of the road is 14m wide. The improvement works are all on-line along the existing roads.
The scheme commences at Lamb's Cross junction (R117) and extends approximately 1.4km to the junction with Ticknock Road (adjacent to the bridge over the M50). The proposed scheme includes approximately 375m of reconstructed roadway at the 3 tie-in roads at Lambs Cross, Enniskerry Road, Sandyford Road and Hillcrest Road and 55m at Ticknock Road.
The scheme includes an improvement to the junction of Grange Road/Harold's Grange Road/College Road/Kellystown Road. The length of improved roads at this junction is approximately 150m.
