Short description

This is a call to competition by Iarnród Éireann-Irish Rail (“IE”) for the provision and application of a rail corrosion protection system.
IE require a proven rail corrosion protection system (and associated repair kits ) for rails in tunnels, level crossings and coastal areas.
The Contract the subject of this competition will be a fixed price contract for thirty six (36) months.
The proposed system must:
1. offer an effective corrosion protection barrier, approved for use on an EU highspeed mainline railway undertaking.
2. be suitable for use in DC traction current areas i.e. will not lead to increased corrosion where current leakage occurs.
3. offer cathodic protection in the case of minor damage.
4. be suitable for application on rails of any section or grade - Rail will generally be provided free issue by Irish Rail in 18m lengths.
5. be applied up to the underside of the rail head and to within 200mm from the end of each rail.
