For the past number of years An Post has had a strong presence in Irish Schools and has ran handwriting competitions in conjunction with the Irish National Teachers Association (INTO) to encourage children to improve their handwriting skills. The last handwriting competition ran in 2019 and was known as Scéal Éile and was supported by a website schoolbag.ie.
An Post now wishes to evolve this competition to a wider School Program that meets the new strategic objectives of the business including but not limited to An Post Mails and Parcels revenue, support the launch of An Post Money products and also key brand and sponsorship objectives.
The evolved school programme will need to be relevant to the curriculum in both Primary and Secondary schools, be available in both Irish and English, and available to Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools (DEIS) and Special Education.

Description of the procurement

- Strategic advice on Irish School Programme landscape
- Design of programme elements, ensuring it is meeting both school curriculum and An Post business objectives
- Implementation, ensuring maximum school participation
- Running of large scale events, both online and offline
- Working with An Post agencies including PR and web development (note PR and website development are not in scope)
Experience working directly with teachers and with the Teaching Council, INTO (or equivalent), and other teaching unions as well as subject specific associations and industry organisations or equivalent is preferable, and knowledge of the Irish education system and curriculum would be beneficial.
