Short description

Tenders are sought for the supply and delivery of two (2) articulated lorry trailers for the transport of trial Combine Harvesters and other equipment between DAFM farms, (Backweston in Kildare, Ballyderown in Cork, Athenry in Galway, Tops near Raphoe, Co. Donegal and Kildalton in Kilkenny), and to other outside trial locations throughout the country. DAFM initially require two (2) articulated lorry trailers by the end of November 2020, with the option to purchase a further one (1) trailer within the next two (2) years if required, with a trade-in of an older King articulated trailer as part of the final purchase.
It is expected that the dimensions of the Combine Harvesters (approximately 3.83m high and 2.6m wide) will meet the overall maximum legal height (4.65m) and width restrictions (2.55m), with the total header width at a maximum of 2.90m, to be compliant with transport legislation. All current road safety requirements must be adhered to.

Please note, in addition to the initial purchase, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) reserve the right to purchase up to an additional one (1) Articulated Lorry Trailer, with a trade-in of an older King articulated trailer, should such a need arise within a twenty four (24) months period commencing from the date of award.
