Short description
THE HSE invites proposals from suitably qualified providers to design and deliver the annual Intern Employment Eligibility Assessment for non-Irish Medical School graduates.
The assessment originally called the Intern Employment Eligibility Test (IEET) was introduced in 2013 to ensure that high quality interns are recruited within the Irish Health Service as part of the National Intern Training Programme. The test was designed to measure specific attributes and knowledge required for an overseas graduate to work as an intern (junior doctor) in the Irish healthcare system. The test includes knowledge and application of Irish legal medicine, knowledge and application of national prescribing practices, professional skills relevant to the Irish healthcare setting and knowledge of national public health and safety issues. This practice benefits the service by ensuring patient safety in an Irish healthcare setting.
