Short description
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) wishes to procure the supply, delivery, installation and maintenance of a stand-alone, compact sequencing instrument capable of a range of applications for the detection and molecular epidemiology of foodborne and animal pathogens including core genome multi locus sequence typing (MLST), SNP analysis, bacterial identification, identification of antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence genes etc.
The main functionality requirements are a state-of-the-art instrument with a low cost per base of sequence data that is easy to use and requires minimal maintenance. The instrument is to be supplied with the relevant software license, warranty and on-site training for staff. Ongoing technical support for sequencing regardless of the vendor, of sample preparation kits must be provided.

The Contracting Authority reserves the right to purchase additional Service and Maintenance options and Consumables for an extended period.
Please note, the Education Procurement Service, on behalf of Public Sector Bodies, reserve the right to purchase up to an additional two (2) High Throughput Sequencers, if such a need arises within eighteen (18) months commencing from the date of Award Notice.
