Short description

This is a call to competition by Iarnród Éireann (IE) for the supply and delivery of Aluminothermic Welding Consumables, for :
(1) Single Use Crucible &
(2) Long Life Crucible,
to its sleeper factory in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, Rep. of Ireland.
IE proposes to pre-qualify a number of suitably qualified candidates to participate in the tender process for the Supply and delivery of Aluminothermic welding consumables.
The contract shall include annual Training & Certification services for IE staff and external contractors.
This will be a fixed price contract for three (3) years with an option to extend annually for up to an additional two (2) years.
A PRE-QUALIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE IS ATTACHED TO THIS NOTICE AND MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND UPLOADED WITH ALL REQUIRED SUPPORT DOCUMENTATION

Description of the procurement

This is a call to competition by Iarnród Éireann (IE) for the supply and delivery of Aluminothermic Welding Consumables, for :

to its sleeper factory in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, Rep. of Ireland.

Background;
IE have a requirement for the welding of railway steel rails in situ.
The estimated volume will be 3,000-5,000 welds per year with a possibility of more.
The contract will involve the supply of welding consumables portions, moulds, iron works and welding tools - for a range of rail sections which shall be predominantly 54kg, 60kg and 113lb (56kg).
There may also be requirements for 50Kg, 95lb and 85lb rail sections.
The contract shall also make provision for the following
1. Aluminothermic Wide Gap weld consumables and tools.
2. Aluminothermic Partial Rail Head weld repair consumables and tools.
3. Electronic weld ignition tools.
4. Rail preheating equipment.
5. Aluminothermic weld cooling equipment.
6. Aluminothermic weld data management system.
7. Other associated aluminothermic welding consumable products
