The construction of a new two storey care ward block extension. The ground and first floor of each ward will contain 25 bedrooms & ancillary accommodation. 3459sqm.
The construction of new two storey entrance building 654sqm
Upon completion the northern two storey section of the existing St. Camillus building (i.e. H Block) will be demolished to allow for the construction of new single storey card ward. 1335sqm. The construction of a single storey ward block containing 25 bedrooms & ancillary accommodation. This building will have a total floor area of 1573sqm

Description of the procurement

The redevelopment of St. Camillus to provide elderly care accommodation containing 75 bedrooms will be carried out in phased construction to contain/provide the following;
Phase One-
The construction of a new two storey care ward block extension. The ground and first floor of each ward will contain 25 bedrooms & ancillary accommodation. The two storey block will also contain an enclosed plantroom at roof level with escape corridor & stairwells. This building will have a total floor area of 3459sqm.
The construction of new two storey entrance building incorporating a new link corridor with stairs & lifts connecting the new ward blocks to the existing St. Camillus ward building, the existing canteen, services & laundry buildings. This building will have a total floor area of 654sqm
Phase Two-
Existing patients to be decanted into the new buildings constructed under phase one. Upon completion the northern two storey section of the existing St. Camillus building (i.e. H Block) will be demolished to allow for the construction of new single storey card ward. The section of the existing building to be demolished has a area of 1335sqm.
Phase Three-
The construction of a single storey ward block containing 25 bedrooms & ancillary accommodation. This building will have a total floor area of 1573sqm
The refurbishment of the existing three-storey section of the hospital H block to provide ancillary accommodation. This building will have a total floor area of 455sqm
The site works will include the construction of a landscaped courtyard to each ward block, a drop off area with overhead canopy supported by stone clad columns, an entrance plaza, new car parking spaces, amendments to the existing staff car park, internal roads, pathways, landscaping and associated M&E & drainage infrastructure.
