Irish Water requires the services of a land agency contractor to undertake various types of services in relation to land management including the following:
• Land valuations
• Expert advice on compensation claims
• Negotiating with national farming organisations
• Negotiating with individual landowners/ landowner agents
• Appearing at oral hearings and arbitration hearings
• Advice on landowner claims
• Rural consultancy
• Reporting
• Liaising with landowners
• Specialist advice on environmental aspects and impacts, land drainage and land agronomy
• Land reinstatement and drainage resolution
• Advice on applicable EU directives
• Advice on matters relating to animal disease

Description of the procurement

The services will be used to deliver land and wayleave requirements for any new projects that come into the Major Projects portfolio during the framework period. These multi-year projects tend to be significant in size and value and affect large numbers of landowners.

Description of the procurement

The above services will be used on hundreds of capital projects across many different programmes throughout Ireland. These projects have an overall value of up to €100m and the number of landowners can range from 1 to 50, with the average number being 10.The type of projects will include constructing Water and Wastewater Treatment plants, pipelines, rehabilitation of existing assets (treatment plants, dams, reservoirs, etc) and groundwater source protection.
