II.1.4)
Short description
This Tender is now complete.
EirGrid's Energy Management System (EMS) is connected to approximately 260 Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and 60 Substation Control Systems (SCS). The RTUs are installed at Transmission and Generation Stations, including windfarm sites and provide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to the EMS.
The objective of this Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) process is to produce a short-list of suitably qualified companies who would be invited to tender for the supply of Transmission Utility SCADA equipment (hereafter referred to as RTUs which may incorporate additional communications or other functionality compared to standard RTUs) for delivery to both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in accordance with the Scope of Supply.
EirGrid intends to establish a single supplier framework for each Lot.

Description of the procurement
This Lot has been cancelled.
Given the length of time that has passed since this tender process commenced, the increasing level of renewable generation required to be controlled by the Transmission System Operators is driving EirGrid to look at more flexible solutions for SCADA data collection and transmission. The RTU is typically one element of such solutions.
