Short description

The works to the existing Laboratory building will involve an extension of a (circa 1340m2) four storey building which is to be positioned adjacent to the existing pathology lab. at the rear of the hospital. The proposed site is currently in use as a carpark. The extension is to be joined to the existing laboratory with a double height glazed atrium and two new single storey extensions (combined 68m2) are to be provided to the existing laboratory to the southern boundary. The works include the phased refurbishment of the existing pathology laboratories (circa 1000m2). Site landscaping works to include re-surfacing of the existing carpark area adjacent to the proposed laboratory building, new pedestrian paths and planted areas (circa 2630m2). Additional works required to comply with planning conditions will be provided in the tender documents and will include works to the proposed site compound.

Description of the procurement

The hospital intends to initiate a tender competition to seek out a main contractor to extend its laboratory building.

The proposed site is currently in use as a carpark.
