Short description

The National Concert Hall (NCH), as part of the Earlsfort Terrace Cultural Quarter development, will consist of a 3 phased development involving major refurbishment of the complex. Phase 1 involves enabling works including works to Pathology Building, provision of temporary boilers, statutory approval for demolition of Anatomy building, rationalisation of Butler Wings, relocation of NCH Restaurant and Call Centre. Phase 2 involves refurbishment, upgrade and extension to existing 1865 block, including auditorium extension, new orchestra rehearsal space and backstage facilities. Phase 3 involves design of 500 seater recital space.
Phase 1 works also include development of a National Children’s Science Centre involving refurbishment and restoration of existing north and part of east wing of NCH building and Real Tennis building, construction of new 4 storey over basement extension with planetarium dome to west of existing NCH and basement link from Concert Hall to Real Tennis building.
