Description of the procurement
As Ireland’s official standards body, the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) aims to inspire consumer confidence and protect industry interests through setting standards and issuing certification in the quality and safety of goods and services. The NSAI benchmarks these standards against international best practice and is therefore a key facilitator of fair trade both in Ireland and in global markets. Full details on NSAI activities can accessed at www.nsai.ie
NSAI occupies offices on the third and fourth floors of Swift Square. The main catering facility is on the fourth floor, comprising a fully equipped kitchen, storage facilities and dining area.
In addition to the main catering area, there are three tea stations located in the NSAI offices to service meeting/training rooms and offices. One tea station is located on the fourth floor, while two tea stations are located on the third floor. Meeting and training rooms are located on the fourth floor and are serviced from one of the tea stations and/or the main catering facility. The caterer will provide a basic coffee machine facility and hot water for tea at one tea station on the third floor and the fourth floor tea station area.
In addition the caterer will provide a “bean to cup” coffee in the main restaurant, at no charge to NSAI. The caterer will be expected to recover the full cost of this through the selling price of “premium” coffees, at a price to be agreed between the caterer and NSAI.
The caterer will be expected to develop the catering services and maximise value for money to NSAI over the length of the contract, whilst maintaining the quality standards and menu range required by the NSAI.
NSAI requires a fully staffed subsidised catering service during the core hours of 09:30 to 14:00 with a hospitality service until 15:30 from Monday to Friday inclusive.
The staff restaurant is also open to non-NSAI staff in the building.
