Description of the procurement

The Legal Aid Board was established under the Civil Legal Aid Act 1995. The Act makes provision for the granting by the State of legal aid and advice to persons of insufficient means in civil cases and family mediation services.
Family mediation is a state run service to help couples who have decided to separate or divorce, or who have already separated, to negotiate their own terms of agreement. State funded family mediation has been in operation since 1986 and has been provided by the Legal Aid Board since 2011.
Following a market exercise in 2010, the Board developed a SharePoint based Legal Case Management System (EOS) which is used to track and support the full life cycle of the Board’s legal cases from the application stage through service delivery to case closure and archival functions.
