In summary, the provision of Eircode/Postcode Address Encoding Services comprises of: Matching an address to an Eircode and appending an Eircode to an existing address on a database in which Eircodes are currently absent. The delivery of the Eircode/Postcode Address Encoding Service to Public Sector Bodies is to be highly accurate, efficient and comprehensive. This will ensure compliance with DPER Circular 19/2017, which sets out measures to increase the usage of Eircodes by Public Sector Bodies. This will allow the public service to benefit from their utility potential, and will also contribute to raising public awareness of Eircodes and an increase in their public use.
