Short description
Kilkenny County Council has identified the need to engage the services of a Multidisciplinary Design Team (Consultant Civil and Structural Engineer Led) Team for the development of an Urban Street and associated services through the Abbey Quarter (former Smithwicks Brewery Site) in Kilkenny City.
The Abbey Creative Quarter Masterplan allowed for the provision of an urban street that would provide connectivity through the site, running in a north - south direction, linking the recently completed Central Access Scheme with Bateman Quay.
It is intended that this urban street will be a pedestrian and cyclist dominated space, with limited vehicular access to the proposed development plots in the Masterplan area, primarily for access to the proposed developments on the site, Deliveries and Emergency Vehicles.
