Description of the procurement

The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) has a mission to play a leading role in transforming Ireland into a society based on sustainable energy structures, technologies and practices. Among the objectives of the SEAI Education Programme are: • to excite and inspire students about energy, environment and climate change; • that children learn a holistic and positive approach to sustainable energy; this is achieved via inquiry based science education and application of knowledge and skills to real life situations; • to embed sustainable energy in all relevant curricula within Irish school system in an integrated manner. (The Department of Education and Skills sets the curricula for all subjects via the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment); • that all schools have a whole school approach to energy education and have an embedded culture of sustainable energy. A substantial part of the Education Programme for schools consists of workshops which are delivered throughout the country. The objective of this RFT was to appoint one service provider to deliver a nationwide school workshop programme for students and teachers (CPD).
