Description of the procurement

Overview
The main aim of this project is to provide the SVUH with a reliable and future proofed telephony solution that can, if needed expand with new service developments. The provision of an Open Standard Analogue/TDM/VoIP phone system will help with the delivery of this requirement and:
• provide the hospital with a resilient telephony infrastructure with no single point or location of failure possible, thereby removing the operational risks associated with the current infrastructure.
• provide telephony services to new service developments on the campus.
• protect the existing investment in telephony services
• allow for capability of integration with National telephony deployments as they may occur in the future and increase voice network resiliency levels.
• reduce risk of failure to an acceptable level.
• provide a local voice mail system.
• Reduce costs associated with operational overheads, annual maintenance and the introduction of new locations.
• Better maximise investments made in high availability always on IP networks.
Outline of the project requirements
SVUH currently has two PBX’s; a third PBX which is used by St Vincent’s Private Hospital (SVPH) as part of the St Vincent’s Healthcare Group (SVHG) is located on the same campus. There are a number of interrelated parts to this project,
• System Consolidation: The aim of this project is to consolidate the first (ISDX) and second (HiPath – Openscape4k) PBX above into one and link it to the third (Unify Openscape Voice). The current analogue handsets (circa 1,800 no.) being used by the ISDX and cabling will not be replaced.
• Implement SIP carrier connectivity
• Red Phone Provision. SVUH have used the existence of two separate phone systems to provide alternative phone access in the case of a PBX failure. This is still a requirement and is in the scope of this EOI
• Maintenance and adds; moves, and changes. Full maintenance of the installed system is required. Providing a 4 hour on-sit
