BusConnects Dublin Core Bus Corridor Project - EIAR, TIA and Construction Strategy Contract

BusConnects Dublin, aims to overhaul the bus system in the Dublin Region through implementation of a range of initiatives including a network of new bus corridors, redesign of the bus network, state of the art ticketing, simpler fare structure and bus fleet with low emission technologies. 16 CBC’s have been identified that make up the radial bus network. The Authority will seek to appoint one supplier to prepare an EIAR including Transport Impact Assessment and the Construction Strategy for all 16 CBC’s in the coming weeks. Working in close collaboration with four teams of engineering designers responsible for delivering the design, the scope of services will relate to the preparation and delivery of the:
- EIAR;
- Transport Impact Assessment; and
- Construction Strategy for the complete radial network comprised of the 16 CBC’s.
Along with supporting the statutory planning process.
The procurement process is expected to be commenced early in November 2018.

Sixteen (16) Core Bus Corridor’s (CBC’s) have been identified that make up the radial bus network. The concept design for the 16 CBC’s has been completed. In general, Emerging Preferred Routes (EPR) have been identified and it is intended to carry out a non-statutory public consultation exercise on the proposed EPR’s between Q4 2018 and Q1 2019, following which the details of each EPR will be confirmed. Environmental considerations were taken account of in the assessment of possible route options leading to identification of the EPR.
The next stage of BusConnects Dublin involves developing the concept design to preliminary design and bringing the project through the statutory approval process. As such, the Authority will seek to appoint one supplier to prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) including Transport Impact Assessment and the Construction Strategy for all 16 CBC’s in the coming weeks. Working in close collaboration with four teams of engineering designers responsible for delivering the design, the scope of services will relate to the preparation and delivery of the:
- Environmental Impact Assessment Report;
- Transport Impact Assessment; and
