Iarnród Éireann requires a company to provide services in the following; (1) welding of Rails in situ using the thermit welding process under SoW5 and SmW-F formats or approved equivalent. (2) Electric Arc Welding Track Repairs; for rail defects such as squats, wheel burns, gauge corner cracking – all personnel to be certified in both manual and automatic flux cored and stick welding for carbon, Manganese, and HP335 rail (3) Grinding repair to Plain Rail, switches & crossings in carbon, tri-metal zone (TMZ) Manganese and HP335 steel. (4) Competent in use of Abrasive Wheels for profile grinding and cutting of plain line rail and in points & crossings. (5) Pre and Post point care inspections, repairs and weld repairs. (6) Point care maintenance and renewals works.
The work will take place at various locations throughout the Irish Rail Network on day and night shifts.
