Description of the procurement
Quantities have not yet been finalised. As an indication, a description of the rooms has been provided below. Furniture will be required for some or all of the below spaces;
Garden Level:
Project 1: Enclosed Service and Plant Areas, e.g. MV Room, LV Room etc. Book Processing, Book Unpacking / Quarantine, Digitisation, Staff Development (Staffing Facilities) and the Automatic Storage and Retrieval Area (ASRS) Support Areas and the Building Stores will also be located at this Level.
Ground Floor Level:
Project 1: Special Collections Archiving, Main Reading Area (Double Volume Space) and Exhibition Areas with Training Rooms, Offices and associated accommodation. The Special Collections Archival Storage Area are located on this floor that consist of Specialist Compact Storage shelving units already procured as part of the main building works. As part of the Loose Furniture Works, adjustable library shelving units are to be provided to the Special Collections Reading Area. The Special Collections Archives, Reading and Exhibition Areas are to be in accordance to PD5454 (2012) ’Guide for the Storage and Exhibition of Archival Materials’.
First Floor Level:
Project 1: Digital Scholarship, Data and Visualisation Area located on the First Floor with Group Work Rooms, Production Suites, Offices, Meeting Rooms, associated accommodation and Breakout Area to a Glazed link. Adjustable library shelving units shelving units are also located on this floor.
Second Floor Level:
Project 1: Medical and Health Sciences Library are located on the Second Floor Level and will consist of Main reading Area (Double Volume Space), Post Graduate Reading, Post Graduate Study, Faculty Areas, Offices, Meeting Rooms, associated accommodation and Breakout Area to a Glazed link. Adjustable library shelving units shelving units are also located on this floor.
Third Floor Level:
Project 1: The Law Library with associated Reading and Study Areas with a fully functional Moot Court, offices and Group Meet and Working Areas located on the Third Floor Level and Breakout Area to a Glazed link. Adjustable library shelving units shelving units are also located on this floor.
