Description of the procurement

The Health Research Board (HRB) is the lead agency in Ireland supporting and funding health research. We provide funding, maintain health information systems and conduct research linked to national health priorities. Our aim is to improve people's health, build health research capacity and make a significant contribution to Ireland's knowledge economy. Our latest Corporate Strategy clearly outlines how we hope to achieve this working in partnership with other organizations.
The HRB produces more than 20 publications annually and generates a variety of promotional material. To achieve this we need a competent company that can deliver quality design and layout for a range of different projects at the same time.
Going forward it is anticipated that the new design and print company would continue to provide design capacity for new materials and promotional events, but would put more emphasis in supporting staff to populate existing templates.
Having a dedicated design company, with an appointed project manager for the HRB and strong internal processes, is essential to ensure:
• Consistency in approach to design, consistent with the overall brand.
• Expertise to develop new promotional material to highlight new initiatives we embark on in line with our brand.
• Delivery of numerous projects, to a high standard, at one time.
On an annual basis the HRB produces a wide variety of reports, newsletters, series documents and promotional material. In order to deliver these materials to a high standard, we require a design company that can provide: -
• Strong ideas and design concepts for new reports and promotional material
• Professional graphic design ability to deliver new concepts to a high standard
• Sharp project management skills to absorb ideas and communicate these effectively to a design team and deliver a professional service from concept to finished product.
• Strong proof reading skills and quality control process
• Additional in RFT
