The scheme objective is to find the most feasibile access from the M7/M20/N18 motoway into the city centre to better serve the southside of Limerick city and the regeneration area. This will include assessing the options under the following headings; engineering, environment, safety, physical activity, economy, accessibility, social inclusion and integration.

Description of the procurement

Limerick City and County Council requires multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy services in relation to the Limerick Southside Accessibility Feasibility Study. The scheme objective is to find the most feasibile access from the M7/M20/N18 motoway into the city centre to better serve the southside of Limerick city and the regeneration area. This will include assessing the options under the following headings; engineering, environment, safety, physical activity, economy, accessibility, social inclusion and integration.
The commission is to examine previously completed studies by completing traffic counts and traffic modelling and assessing the options in greater details. This includes identifying one or a number of suitable solutions including examination of new options.
The multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy services now required may include some or all of the following; assisting client with procurement and management of traffic counts, traffic modelling/assessment, regeneration, geotechnical engineering, motorway and bridge design, bridge/stucture, consultation with the TII and Direct Route, Multi Criteria Analysis, EIA screening, AA screening, Road Safety Audits, archaeological and environmental studies, urban road design and masterplanning.
